Background

Guher completed her bachelor's degree in economics at the Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences, Karadeniz Technical University, Türkiye, in 2003. After graduation, she became a district governor in

Türkiye. She obtained her Master's in Public Administration at the University of Portsmouth, UK, in 2016 with a public scholarship. She has developed and conducted significant strategic plans

focusing mainly on rehabilitating parents with disabled children and disabled adults. She has also initiated the establishment of significant women's cooperatives (e.g. Yazihan Women's Cooperative and Cinar Women's Cooperative) in the districts where she has worked. She joined ÂãÁÄÖ±²¥ as a PhD researcher in January 2023. She is currently a district governor in the Republic of Türkiye Ministry of Interior.

Research opportunities

Guher's current research is Sustainability of Cooperatives: a Supply Chain Management Approach. Her research focuses on examining and promoting women's participation in the workplace and leadership within cooperative supply chains. Specifically, it seeks to identify and address obstacles women face in their participation and leadership roles within supply chains and to propose strategies for overcoming these disparities through the cooperative business model.
