Background
Dr Finnis joined ÂãÁÄÖ±²¥ in 1984 following six years in the MOD at PERME Westcott and Shrivenham.
Dr Finnis has worked on numerous fluid dynamics projects including the investigation of boundary-layer stability on concave surfaces, the subject of his PhD awarded by ÂãÁÄÖ±²¥ (then Cranfield Institute for Technology) in 1993. He has been involved in the design and commissioning of a number of wind tunnels for motorsport in the US and UK.
Current activities
Dr Finnis provides consultancy in experimental and theoretical fluid mechanics including:
experimental aerodynamics
aeroballistics
wind-tunnel design and commissioning
numerical and application software development.
