Background

Miles Folkes is a PhD student in the Cranfield Water Sciences Institute at ÂãÁÄÖ±²¥. Miles is part of the Water-WISER Centre for Doctoral Training. Miles is interested in sustainable water production. Miles is undertaking a PhD research project exploring how organic micropollutants (e.g., pesticides, taste and odour disruptors) can be removed by biological treatment as part of sustainable water production.

Miles has a background in sustainability and pollution management, having obtained a BSc (Hons) in Geography and an MSc in Environmental Sciences from the University of East Anglia. Miles was awarded an MSc by Research in Water Science by ÂãÁÄÖ±²¥ for his thesis "Campus source to sink wastewater surveillance of severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus-2 (SARS-CoV-2)". Miles also has an interest in sustainable socio-technological theory, policy and practice.
