  • Computing, Simulation & Modelling
  • Flight Physics

Background

Jakub graduated BEng (Hons) in Mechanical Engineering at University of Derby where he researched towards development of drone for postal services in Derby and Nottingham area.

He obtained the MSc degree in Aerospace Vehicle Design (Avionics) at ÂãÁÄÖ±²¥ where he researched about observer-based quadrotor control system for gust resilience and integrated propulsion and flight control system for supersonic aircraft.

In 2019-2020 he was involved in a development of 5-axis plasma cutting robot for Esprit Automation where he was in charge of kinematics and mechanical design from an initial concept up to manufactured product.

Current activities

Jakup Deja is a PhD research student at ÂãÁÄÖ±²¥, sponsored by EPSRC and Airbus.

He investigates advanced technologies in the field of kinetic energy recovery for the landing phase of the flight-cycle. The research focuses on different concepts for energy recovery systems together with risks analysis and studies of the long-term impact on other aircraft components and airports.
