Background
Ying was awarded her PhD in Environmental Engineering at The University of Wollongong in 2023. Also, she completed a Master of Science in Environmental Engineering in 2019 (Institute of Soil Science, University of Chinese Academy of Sciences), and a Bachelor of Engineering in Environmental Engineering in 2016 (North University of China). Currently, she is a research fellow in wastewater surveillance at ÂãÁÄÖ±²¥.
Her research project is on sensing wastewater for real-time public health monitoring, with a particular emphasis on pathogens, disease biomarkers, and antimicrobial resistance, which is critical for environmental health and will contribute to combating future global health challenges.
Research opportunities
Environmental microbiology, wastewater surveillance, water and wastewater treatment, soil pollution, waste recycling and clean production.

Research fellow in wastewater surveillance and wastewater-based epidemiology.
