Contact Dr Buchan Schreiner

Background

Dr Buchan 'Neys' Schreiner is a Research Fellow in the Low Emissions Technologies and Combustion Group within the Centre for Propulsion and Thermal Power Engineering. He joined Cranfield in 2019 and has undertaken research in external aerodynamics, shape optimisation, rotorcraft and gas turbine performance, and novel fuels. He has been involved in a range of projects including: ANACO, FANTASIA, FASTRIP2050, UTOPEA, ONEHeart, TARGET H2, and EXAELIA.

Education

Neys completed his PhD at the University of Bath in 2019, researching the internal aerodynamics of gas turbines, specifically the interaction of main and purge gas flows through tubine rim seals. Prior to this, he studied an MSc in Computational Fluid Dynamics at Cranfield (2014-15). His undergraduate degree is from the University of Kwa-Zulu Natal (BScEng, South Africa).
