This half day course runs through the basics of data analysis for the water sector with interactive activities. It will introduce the essential tools and statistical methods required to effectively analyse such data and extract meaningful insights.

This course is delivered via a mixture of lectures and tutorials.

What you will learn

You will learn how to apply data analysis and statistical techniques to make informed decisions, evaluate process performance, and confidently develop optimization strategies for improved system outcomes.

Data analysis
Average and median, frequency distribution – use and meaning
Normal distribution – meaning, minimum number of samples, implications
Most common statistical techniques to process environmental data. T-test, 1-way 2-way ANOVA, use and meaning
